Empowering New Sericulture & Building the New Silk Road

01 项目介绍 Program Introduction

本项目旨在向年轻人展示中国现代蚕桑业的进步与发展，介绍桑蚕育种、丝绸生产和设计方面的最新研究成果。其中学术模块主要包括全球蚕业发展讲座，采桑、养蚕、缫丝、酿桑酒等实践培训，参观丝绸生产企业和国家蚕桑遗传资源库等。文化模块主要包括丝绸艺术讲座，参观中国大运河博物馆和中国醋文化博物馆等。

This program aims to showcase advancement of modern sericulture in China to young talents. Through this program, the latest research achievements in mulberry and silkworm breeding, silk production and design will be introduced. Academic Module includes lectures on global development of sericulture, practical training on picking mulberry, feeding silkworms, reeling silk and brewing mulberry wine, visiting silk production enterprises and national sericulture and mulberry genetic resource banks, etc. Cultural Module includes lectures on silk arts and visits of China Grand Canal Museum and China Vinegar Culture Museum, etc.

02 学校介绍 Introduction of JUST

江苏科技大学具有90年的办学历史，坐落在风景秀丽的国家历史文化名城——江苏省镇江市。具有理学、工学、农学、人文、法学、哲学、教育学、经济学、管理学等多个学科门类。以“船舶、海洋、蚕桑”为鲜明特色优势，具有本、硕、博完整培养体系的行业特色型大学。目前，JUST拥有超过35700名全日制学生，其中包括来自50多个国家的790多名国际学生。学校生物学与畜牧学学科以蚕桑科学为核心与特色，已建成蚕桑遗传育种与繁殖、营养与饲料科学、畜牧生物工程与资源利用多领域协同发展的学科体系。拥有的全球规模最大的蚕、桑种质资源库，在种质创新、品种选育和产业现代化研究等方面保持国际领先地位。

Jiangsu University of Science and Technology (JUST), with 90 years’ history, located in the beautiful national historical and cultural city of Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. It has multiple disciplines including science, engineering, agriculture, humanities, law, philosophy, education, economics, management, etc. With distinctive advantages in "shipbuilding, ocean, and sericulture", it is an industry-specific university with a complete undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral training system. Currently, JUST has more than 35700 fulltime students including over 790 international students from over 50 countries. The school's biology and animal husbandry departments prioritize sericulture science as their core and features, boasting a discipline system that fosters integrated growth across sericulture genetic breeding, reproduction, nutrition, feed science, and animal husbandry bioengineering. With the world's largest silkworm and mulberry germplasm resource bank, the institution maintains a pioneering stance in germplasm innovation, variety selection, and industrial modernization research on an international scale.

03 学院介绍 Introduction of College

生物技术学院/蚕业研究所拥有畜牧学一级学科博士学位授权点、生物学一级学科硕士学位授权点和农业、生物与医药硕士专业学位授权点。学院现有在职教师121人，其中专任教师105人，包括正高级职称人员23人、副高级职称人员67人，博士生导师15人，硕士生导师60余人。拥有国家杰出青年基金获得者、国家蚕桑产业技术体系岗位科学家等国家及省部级人才26人。

建有农业农村部蚕桑遗传改良重点实验室、国家蚕遗传资源基因库（江苏）、国家桑树种质资源圃（镇江）、农业农村部蚕桑产业产品质量检验测试中心（镇江）、农业农村部蚕桑产品及食用昆虫质量安全风险评估实验室、国家蚕桑科技转化平台、中国-古巴蚕桑科技合作中心等多个科研教学平台，有教学科研设施面积2.5万平方米，仪器设备总值近亿元，校内外教学实习基地16个。

The College of Biotechnology（The Sericulture Research Institute）offers doctoral programs in animal husbandry as a first-level discipline, master's programs in biology, and professional master's programs in agriculture, biology, and medicine. Currently, the institute boasts a faculty of 121 members, with 105 being full-time teachers, including 23 holding senior professional titles and 67 holding vice-senior professional titles. Moreover, there are 15 doctoral supervisors and over 60 master's degree supervisors. Notably, the institute counts 26 talents at the national, provincial, and ministerial levels, including recipients of the National Outstanding Youth Fund and scientists engaged in the National Sericulture Industry Technology System.

The institute has established several pivotal facilities, including the Key Laboratory of Sericulture Genetic Improvement under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Silkworm Genetic Resource Gene Bank located in Jiangsu, and the National Mulberry Germplasm Resource Nursery situated in Zhenjiang. Additionally, it hosts the Sericulture Industry Product Quality Inspection and Testing Center, also under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, in Zhenjiang. Furthermore, the institute features various scientific research and teaching platforms such as the Product and Edible Insect Quality and Safety Risk Assessment Laboratory, the National Sericulture Technology Transformation Platform, and the China-Cuba Sericulture Science and Technology Cooperation Center. Spanning 25,000 square meters, its teaching and research facilities are well-equipped with instruments and equipment valued at nearly 100 million yuan. The institute also operates 16 foreign teaching practice bases.

04 课程设置 Curriculum

1．学术报告：邀请生物学、畜牧学学科国内外知名学者开展丰富多彩的学术讲座，引领学生直面学科的前沿动态和最新成果，拓展学术视野。

Academic report：Invite renowned scholars both domestically and internationally within the disciplines of biology and animal husbandry to deliver a wide range of academic lectures, leading students to engage with the cutting-edge trends and latest achievements in the discipline, and expand their academic horizons.

2. 认识实习：通过参观产学研基地、传统文化实践基地，使学员近距离了解丝绸生产过程及蚕桑企业文化，深入了解我国丝绸生产技术及蚕桑种质资源的先进水平。

Knowledge internship：By visiting industry-university-research bases and traditional culture practice bases, students can gain a close understanding of the silk production process and sericulture corporate culture, and develop a comprehensive understanding of the advanced level of Chinese silk production technology and sericulture germplasm resources.

3. 专业实践：进行丰富多彩的采桑养蚕、桑葚酒酿制、缫丝工艺操作和蚕桑丝织艺术创作等实践，培养学员理论知识与实践操作相结合的能力，实现“劳育”和“美育”的有机结合。

Professional practice: Carry out a variety of practices such as mulberry picking and silkworm rearing, mulberry wine brewing, silk reeling process operations, and sericulture and silk weaving art creation, etc., to cultivate students' ability to combine theoretical knowledge with practical operations, and achieve "labor education" and "aesthetic education" organic combination.

4. 文化体验：通过参观江南园林、古城遗址等名胜古迹，带领学生领略中国传统文化的独特韵味，并感受传统与现代生活的和谐之美。

Cultural experience: Through visits to Jiangnan gardens, ancient city ruins, and other historical sites, students are guided to appreciate the unique charm of Chinese traditional culture and experience the harmony between traditional and modern life.

1. Jiangsu University of Science and Technology is responsible for students' courses, cultural excursions, transportation, accommodation, catering services, insurance, and activity materials fees during the program.

2. Participants are responsible for their international travel expenses, visa fees, and insurance, and etc. Jiangsu University of Science and Technology will reimburse part of the expenses based on actual circumstances.
